Magic the Gathering

Magic the Gathering is a new hobby for me. I started to get interested during Bloomburrow and then started playing when Duskmourn was released. I used to play and collect Yu-Gi-Oh! when I was in school. I mostly played the playstation games (Forbidden Memories on the PS1 & Duelist of the Roses on the PS2 in particular).

Then a friend started to get into the card game again in the summer of 2024 so I began playing masterduel and ordered some cards online. My only decks are Vanish Soul and Traptrix if you're interested lol. I played for a couple of months but the way the game has changed since the original anime just wasn't fun to me.

I was talking to three guys at work who I knew are into gaming about it. They mentioned they play MTG and needed one more person for their at work pod. They offered to teach me and we played a game of commander. I used one of their decks (the commander was Thryx, the Sudden Storm). I was so lost at what was happening but I fell in love with the game - it was so fun!

It wasn't long after that when Duskmourn released. I immediately bought the Miracle Worker and Endless Punishment precons. My Aminatou deck is one of my main decks and I'm constantly looking for new cards that synergise with it and changing up strategies. I've bought a few precons but am now working on my own decks. I'm only really interesed in the commander format at the moment as I really enjoy the singleton gameplay and other formats feels a little like how Yu-Gi-Oh! games play out which I just don't enjoy.

Click on the cards below to see my current decklists on Moxfield. I try to match the printing with the cards I actually have in the decks as much as I can.

My Commander Decks

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

This deck started out as the Duskmourn Miracle Worker precon. I'm not that happy with how it plays at the moment. I will either change it up or take it apart to build a different deck eventually.

Glarb, Calamity's Augur

This is the first deck I've put together that isn't just an edited precon. This deck is all about landfall triggers and creating huge creatures. Primarily a green deck with hints of blue and black.

Narci, Fable Singer

As a huge Final Fantasy fan, I wanted to make use of all the new summon/saga creatures. I've been wanting to build Narci for a while so this deck was built to use as many of the summons in abzan colours as I could.

My Arena Brawl Decks

Vorinclex

I enjoy playing large green creatures and this deck is all about that. I keep planning on improving this decklist but end up building other decks instead oops. Based on Amazonian's decklist.

Yuna, Hope of Spira

My favourite brawl deck to play on MTG Arena at the moment. Copied from Amazonian's decklist, with a few small changes (wildcards are expensive).

Terra, Magical Adept

This deck is all about flipping Terra to her saga side and then copying it using Spark Double or The Apprentice's Folly, resulting in 100s of game actions. This deck is slow and is very weak against fast aggro decks but it's fun when it works.
